Witness a queer take on The Sound of Music,
told through Rolfe—torn between Nazi ambition, forbidden love, and the danger of rising fascism.

The Radicalization
of Rolfe

A Play by Andrew Bergh

Directed by Alan Quismorio

MAY 8 - JUNE 1 2O25

The play reimagines The Sound of Music through the eyes of Rolfe, tracing his story alongside the familiar plot of the film. Encouraged by the Nazis to pursue the eldest Von Trapp daughter, Rolfe is promised advancement within the Party—while secretly involved with a boyfriend urging him to escape Austria as the threat to queer lives intensifies. At once intimate and political, the play explores how a young man can be seduced by power and ideology. It queers a beloved classic while echoing chilling parallels to today’s world.
