The Sound of Music gets a haunting twist in this bold reimagining told through Rolfe’s eyes. As the Nazis groom him with promises of power and encourage his courtship of Liesl, Rolfe hides a deeper truth—a boyfriend urging him to flee as Austria grows deadly for queer people. Torn between ambition, affection, and fear, Rolfe becomes a portrait of how easily youth can be flattered, manipulated, and lost to rising extremism. This play queers a cherished classic, revealing the cracks beneath its familiar songs—and the dangers still echoing today.
